ABOUT Shamrock FC ///

Shamrock Football Club also known as The Patrician’s were founded in January 2010 by a group of graduating students from St. Patrick’s School. The main goal and vision of the team was to be the alumni team of graduating students who had represented the school’s soccer team from the year 2000 to 2005.
When the team was formed, we started to participate in Friendly matches to gauge how the team was in terms of quality of players. After playing weekly for six months, we ventured into the Goal Arena Football League which was meant for amateur teams like ourselves. In our first season, we were crowned champions of the Goal Arena Sunday AM League. However like many amateur teams, players come and go hence the following two seasons were mid-table finishes and knocked out at the group stages of the Goal Arena Challenge Cup.
We looked into the club and wanted more from it and started on a footballing project called the ‘Shamrock Project’ in which we identified and aligned our capabilities to explore more opportunities for the team’s development.. We started by looking at the values that were common in the team and those were values imparted by our al ma mater – Humility, Humanity and Honesty. On top of that, we realized that our players were very similar in which we do not accept defeat. We aimed to strive further to meet our maximum potential.
In the first year of the project, we released certain senior players and started on a recruitment drive for fresh new blood who were hungry for success on the pitch. We began by sending players to watch our Al Ma Mater ‘B’ Division matches to scout out young talent that will be able to continue playing in the years to come. The result was a top three finish and a 2nd place finish in the Goal Arena Challenge Cup. The second year into the project, we saw the team expand by ensuring that we added depth and ended the season with a top three finish and champions of the Challenge Cup.
The ‘Shamrock Project’ is a work in progress and the management and as well as players are dedicated in improving and have the hunger to be champions. The aim of our team is to continue to do our part in developing local football and to continue to do our part for our alumni to keep developing upcoming footballers who have graduated and have the passion to continue playing
